What If?

This time, the world experiences the biggest scale outbreak known as Global Pandemic. What will happen? If the outcome is so severe that it would cause reducing of the world population by 60%, how would daily life of humans change? Also if this could be a new chance to reset what we have done. What will the future architecture be like?

Future situation after Worst-Case Pandemic                                                                  

If the world population decreases, one thing that will directly affect is the regeneration of nature due to reduced resources demand. The daily life of humans has changed, the humans interactions is through the virtual world. A society that is primarily self-reliant resulting in a decrease of nationality, different cultures become social characteristics. Technology is continuously developing, including advancements in the use of renewable energy. Mechanical systems and robots can replace most of the labour jobs, giving humans more time that way being able to live a more comfortable life. More than that, we are more valuable because no technology can replace creativity. These are all possible events of the future.

What have we learned from this event?

The occurrence of a pandemic can make huge losses and major changes. Therefore, prevention is something that should be our number one priority. The Nature that we have destroyed almost cannot be recovered. Instead, it has been regenerated during all this time, so using natural resources must be done in a much more careful than before.

The new Style of the city that will be like a second chance for Mankind.

With advanced technology that has been developed over the past period, the new design must be able to be modified according to the situation at all times to prevent the spread of disease. Also, the new city must be movable and relocatable preventing in this way permanent damage to the natural areas. Following a new way of life, imagination will be the most important thing for this new society. The design style of the new city will be in the form of a "modular tetrahedron" which can be interconnected independently.

The ideal of the futuristic city: "The Restarted City".

The city will consist of 6 main functional zonings areas: Residential, Community, Health Facility, Educational, Public Space, and Automation Service, all of which can be freely be interconnected to create new and unique functions. Also, the main structural frame of the modular structure includes the Sustainable Functions: the Foldable Solar panel that can be folded to open and close, helping to find the most efficient sunlight to gain energy; the Wind Propeller which is a wind turbine that will harness wind to generate power; the Water Cycle System that will circulate water from the natural sources to be used within the buildings; and the Automation Farming system that uses machinery instead of human labour to produce products but also is used for water treatment before it is send back to Nature.
